Mulongo search without judicial warrant and taken to the dungeon of the National Intelligence Agency (ANR). Mulongo Kalonda-Ba-Mpeta was detained and imprisoned since April 25, 2016 to prison Central Kassapa in Lubumbashi.

The Committee of Observers of Human Rights (CODHO) said that Simon-Huit Mulongo is old chief office of Moïse Katumbi, Governor of the former Katanga Province until September 2015 before his resignation, and he is member of the "Citizen Front 2016", a platform that brings together the political opposition parties and some civil society.

In addition, Professor Simon-Huit Mulongo held a press conference on Tuesday 12 April at 16h in Kinshasa during which he justified this media release by the fact that he called "a campaign of demonization against Katumbi". Also, the alleged search of housing Mulongo comes as the G-7 (Group of 7 political parties of the opposition) held on 22 April 2016, a press conference in Kinshasa. The G-7 warns anyone who wants to attempt to body of Moses Katumbi. The G-7 also asked MONUSCO (Mission of the UN Stabilization in Congo) to ensure the safety of Moses Katumbi. Mr. Simon-Huit Mulongo is former chief of staff of Moïse Katumbi, also and Katumbi a former governor of the old province of Katanga (stripped early 2016) until September 2015 before his resignation. Moïse Katumbi and Simon -Hui Mulongo are spent in opposition, and Katumbi was presented in March 2006 by the G-7 as their candidate for the presidency of the Republic in the presidential election scheduled for November 2016. Note Congolese authorities prevented the meeting scheduled April 24, 2016 in the town of Kenya in Lubumbashi by the dynamics of the opposition (the Coalition of opposition political parties in the DRC) which Moses Katumbi was the keynote speaker. Even representatives of the Joint Office of the United Nations human rights were denied access to the place designated for the rally. The main rally was held in Kinshasa, but also in the towns of Goma (North Kivu province) and Bukavu (South Kivu). The purpose of the meeting is the commemoration of the 26 years-24 April- the historic date

when the dictator Joseph Mobutu announced the multiparty political and union in 1990, letting tears flow, thus yielding to the internal popular pressure. The CODHO believes that this harassment politico -judiciaire against Simon-Huit Mulongo Moïse Katumbi like other relatives of the latter is the fact that Moses Katumbi having left the presidential majority and introducing himself as a candidate for the presidential election in November 2016.

Contacted for his views, the lawyer N'Sii Luanda, president of CODHO said from Paris (France) that "Congo authorities must stop the use of agents of the country, including soldiers of the Republican Guard and paid polices paid, dressed and equipped by the money of taxpayers to suppress the Congolese opposition members in violation of the constitution and laws of the Republic."

The Committee of Observers of Human Rights (CODHO) denounces all acts of political violence against opposition members, including Mr Simon Mulongo-Eight, and leaders of civil society organizations in the Democratic Republic of Congo who are committed to respect the Constitution of the republic in Kinshasa and in the 25 provinces, but also campaigning for the holding of the presidential election in the constitutional deadline in November 2016 .
