As part of an international day of protest to coincide with a meeting of world leaders in Montreal to discuss climate change, thousands joined a march in London which visited the Australian embassy and the offices of Exxon Mobil on the way to a rally outside the US embassy. Bristol solidarity ride a success

Around 200 cyclists and others answered the callout for a Halloween ride in Bristol on Friday night. The ride was held in solidarity with the reported clampdown on the 12 year-old monthly London critical mass ride, and to celebrate the sustainable culture & economics of cycling. It makes sense to me for Indymedia to move out of the state constructs of 'state' and 'region' by redefining ourselves as part of a bio-region we reconnect ourselves to the ecology on which we depend.

Peat processing plant sabotaged.

At the end of last year a peat processing plant near Glastonbury, Somerset, was sabotaged. The Plant processed peat for several companies distributing to Garden Centres. The peat was extracted from areas in and near 5 different Sites of Special Scientific Interest for their ecological value. These sites were within an Area of outstanding Natural Beauty. Drake's Island occupied - declared nuclear free state

On 13 May 12 anti-nuclear weapons protestors from the Plymouth Trident Ploughshares (Tamarians) along with supporters, squatted Drake’s Island in Plymouth Sound. A peace camp has been set up and the island declared a nuclear free state. The protest highlights the UK’s breach of the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), which is now being reviewed at an important at the UN in New York.
