The trial of the 'Man on the Bridge'
Nine months after the events, and after a first trial that collapsed, the Man on the Bridge was on trial again. He faced public order charges merely for putting up a banner and shouting anti-Bush slogans. After a sequence of spectacular failures of the justice system, it was deemed imposible to give him a fair trial, and the charges were dropped!Peace Campaign and Social Forum Events in the North Essex / Suffolk area

(Not-So) Secret plans for Trident replacementDoctrines And Visions: Who Is To Run The World, And How?
A major statement by Noam Chomsky regarding terrorism, the war in Iraq, the military situation worldwide, and the "democratic vision" of President Bush and Prime Minister Blair. Note that the discussion of the militarization of space has local relevance for Cambridge residents, as one of the major components in research and development of space-based weapons - the US-run airbase RAF Feltwell, is located very near to us.Kolot Shalom Statement on Recent Events in Rafah
In accordance with the humanitarian principles in Judaism, and universal values of peace, justice and human rights, Kolot Shalom expresses its condemnation of the following events in the Middle East:911 Tall Buildings Tall Tales
GOVERNMENT ABOVE THE LAW, declares judge
Four East Anglian peace activists were yesterday found guilty of criminal damage to the perimeter fence of RAF/USAF Lakenheath. Ex-Marine Staff Sergeant Jimmy Massey talks about his time in Iraq where he admitted the U.S. treatment of Iraqi civilians is fueling the Iraqi resistance. In a recent interview he said "I felt like we were committing genocide in Iraq."Paxman interviews Chomsky
A short interview with Noam Chomsky, including transcript and video stream (Realplayer, low bandwidth). Jeremy Paxman, conducting the interview, is obviously trying to do what he can to hit Chomsky with the "tough questions", in notable contrast to his extremely subservient interview with Tony Blair before the war started...personally, I'd appreciate it if Mr. Paxman would secure another interview with Mr. Blair and ask some real questions this time.Cambridge Activists Scream Against War, Occupation, and Torture
Scream against Occupation
An informal group of Cambridge residents, sickened by the rising tide oftorture and human rights abuses committed by British and American troops in
the illegal occupation of Iraq, are taking their anger onto the streets of

Mutiny!
Can we please stop calling it a quagmire? The United States isn't mired in a bog in Iraq, or a marsh; it is free-falling off a cliff. The only question now is: who will follow the Bush clan off this precipice, and who will refuse to jump?Latest report from Fallujah
