The Saorsa Open Day was a full success. The G42 Collective provided t-shirt printing facilities, film screenings, internet access, a rebel cafe and a friendly welcoming atmosphere on the first floor of 674 Pollockshaws Road in the south of Glasgow.

"Ode to the cleaners!" - A local perspective after the G8.

So, who did tidy up then? It is now the 20th of July, and the big hype is over. Most of the activists were quick to leave, a few stayed to clear, tidy up and reorganise the spaces and to take on responsibility in fulfilling promises made by other people.

Anarchist Pogo Party's election TV spot censored

In the run up to the German elections for parliament and governemnt, several satirical and fun parties promise to make elections interesting entertainment again.
The Anarchist Pogo Party of Germany has now their TV spot censored, because of too much "sex, drugs, alcohol and violence".
But the founder of the Anarchist Pogo Party claims, that this scene would just mirror the catastrophical conditions in our society leading to an apocalyptic vision of the future".

invading the water with rebel kajaks On Monday 4th of July, Scottish CND, Trident Ploughshares, the Faslane Peace Camp and friends celebrated one of their biggest success in the struggle against the Nuclear Weapons of Mass Destruction in Britain yet:
They closed down the Faslane Submarine Base near Helensburgh, north of Glasgow for a day - with hardly any arrests and a holiday for the workers.
On a sunny day, the victory of Non Violent Direct Action came at last for the campaigners.

Street party in Glasgow

A street party occupied the bridge south of the Glasgow train station today. Samba music and a small amp were playing, and the sun was out! Unfortunatelly the Police set and end by closing down the north side, and trying to pen in people.

Stirling campsite update

All morning, people have been allowed to leave on one by one basis on condition that they are searched, they give names, are filmed/photographed and have good excuse to leave (like catching a train). In the afternoon, two large groups (around 300) attempted to leave the campsite.
