Edinburgh Beltane Fire Festival Pictures

Pictures from the Beltane Fire Festival on the night of 30th April at Calton Hill in Edinburgh. Around 8000 people payed £3-5 to watch the show celebrating Beltane and party on the hill. Following the end of the ceremony / show, most people happily left the hill to move onto other locations for more mayday revellry.

G8: Scottish Parliament Petition re Policing + Protests

G8 Alternatives are publicising a petition in response to some of the alarming reports about policing plans for the G8 summit protests this coming July is Scotland. The petition demands that riot police equipped with rubber bullets are not used for policing, that venues be provided for protest meetings and accomodation, and that protestors creating their own spaces should be allowed to do so.

Workers Without Bosses: Solidarity With Argentina's Self-Managed Factories

The workers of Brukman, one of about 200 self-managed factories in Argentina, need your help. Although they recovered their factory at the beginning of 2004 and are running it again, the factory has been damaged by police action, and many of the machines are not running at full capacity due to lack of spare parts and repair manuals.

Sunday Free Cafe at Bilston Glen Protest Site, 1 august

On sunday, August 1, we're having another Sunday free cafe. Come down and hang out (rest after the rts?), drink some tea and eat some food. Everything is free of charge. All day event. From Edinburgh, take bus 37 or 37A towards Penicuik and get off at the first bus stop in Bilston. Go through the gate next to the bus stop and follow the path that leads to the camp. See you in the glen!
