"Shame on you" cries crowd as police arrest 5

"Shame on you, shame on you..." chanted the crowd as police arrested 5 in Parliament Square today.

In a re-run of last Monday, police tolerated a peaceful demonstration for an hour, then leafleted the crowd to tell them their presence was illegal under the new Serious Organised Crime and Police Bill.

A squad of around twenty then moved in and gave individuals verbal warnings, prior to snatch squads removing them to waiting vans.

It was apparent that they had targeted demonstrators with banners - the act of separating protester from banner seemed to be part of the theatre. Several people announced they'd be back next Sunday with banners in tow, a fact quickly noted down by eavesdropping officers.

More demonstrations are scheduled in Parliament Square, check Protest.net for details.

Blair has butchered 300,000 plus in Iraq, and this demonstration is the worst he has to fear???

Blair is planning the first of his true wars of Genocide in Iran, where millions will be killed by the use of nuclear weapons, and the words on these posters are supposed to represent the depth of British opposition???

Blair will be opening the first of his concentration camps soon to hold all those Muslims and others that break his new 'thought crime' laws, and THIS is supposed to be the voice that says 'NO' ???

However, the UK is the land of 'phoney' opposition- but this is to be expected, since Blair is leaving nothing to chance. I mean there are IDIOTS here regreting the trip to Hell taken by Robin Cook. The same Robin Cook that was an intimate of Blair, an architect of Blair's rise to power, and a key player in Blair's plan to prepare the US army for its first large scale ground operations since Vietnam (the REAL reason for the war over Kosovo).

Kosovo didn't quite pan out (the US chickened out of a ground war then), and Cook discovered that his health was not good enough for him to continue being one of Blair's main ministers. Luckily for Cook, he was able to continue serving his Master as a phoney opponent- a safe lightning rod for all the anti-Blair anti-War outrage.

Still, for all the 'bright bulbs' here, you still have Benn, Livingstone, and Galloway, don't you? I mean, what's not to trust with a man that went to Iraq just before the invasion, and made a point of meeting people that would be bombing targets days later, or a man that cheered the execution of an innocent held down and murdered by Blair's death squad, or a man leading the main anti-war party that somehow magically could only find candidates for a fraction of the general election seats???

Want some advice? Give up on the whole Blair thing! He's won, and the Hell he is about to unleash is unstoppable. We're all to blame, but it's too late to do anything now- so consider your life, and appreciate all the wonderful things within it. The time for Love and Beauty is almost over, so make the most of these qualities now- and ensure that your future contains as little regret as possible.

I remember reading from the previous demo (on the Monday) that the police arrested a certain number of protestors. On Sunday I heard one of the senior officers saying they had their number for the day! It would seem to me they're arresting a set number each week.
