PREPARE TO DEFEND THE PEOPLE OF IRAN FROM A NUCLEAR ATTACK!

Rory Winter | 26.01.2006 00:58 | Anti-militarism | World

There is, at present, an ominous silence from the UK Anti-War Movement about the dangers of a Nuclear Attack on Iran by the USA and Israel.

PREPARE TO DEFEND THE PEOPLE OF IRAN FROM A NUCLEAR ATTACK!

It is not my wish to act like a doomsayer or to alarm anyone unnecessarily. In the dark times we live that would be a cruel and unforgivable thing to do.

The western countries have, in the most cynical fashion, chosen to demonize and persecute the Islamic world, to turn it into a new "menace" (now that the "Red Menace" no longer exists) in order to justify to their peoples a state of "permanent war". It is a very frightening situation in which we are now but very few are aware of what the warmongers are preparing. In my opinion, and in the growing awareness of many others, the new 21st Century imperialism we now face is already just as bad as the nazism of Hitler's Third Reich.

Some of you will know that the gangster regime presently running the USA is now planning, along with the cooperation of NATO (including the UK) and Israel, a pre-emptive (first strike) attack on Iran. This attack will probably be to destroy Iran's nuclear reactors and air defences. Most of these defence systems are buried in hardened shelters, deep underground. They are built specifically to withstand the heaviest assault by conventional weapons so what the US intends to use against them are so-called 'tactical mini-nukes', nuclear missile warheads of an explosive yield of anything between half to four or five times the size of the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

These mini-nukes are intended to pierce the earth before exploding. Not only would such weapons leave huge open craters but they would still cause immense devastation to the surrounding area. It is impossible to believe that such devastation will not spread into civilian towns and cities. Moreover, massive radioactive clouds will blow across the planet carrying deadly radiation to many other countries. The annual monsoon weather could carry radioactive clouds south-eastwards and this could mean Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and parts of SE Asia will be affected.

I find the prospect of such a thing happening so horrific that these days waking every day feels to be entering into a nightmare world. But a nightmare world is precisely what these madmen have created. It is time that all sane, decent folk stand up against this unspeakable insanity and say, "Enough! Stop!"

You would think that organizations in the UK like the Stop the War Coalition and CND would be working 24/7 to alert the people of the UK to this serious danger. But they seem to be so shocked by the terrible belligerence of Washington DC's war-makers that they have turned into so many tiny rabbits being mesmerized by a great cobra. At the moment, all we are hearing from the Anti-War Movement is an ominous silence. This silence needs to be broken and broken now. A lot of time has already been wasted. Let no one waste another second.

That is why I am now appealing to you. At the moment, it appears there are only a few individuals who are ringing the alarm-bells. But everything starts in a small way.

Speaking to you from my heart, I have every faith in the tremendous potential of human communities everywhere to work for Peace and the New World that is surely coming. But time is running very short. The proposed attack on Iran is in March 2006.

There isn't very much time. But instead of being paralyzed by fear and powerlessness think what you can do in the name of Mother Earth. And then do it!

For those who want more evidence that my warnings are not false, please consult the Medialens archive, BUSH/CHENEY, US WAR DOCTRINE & PLANS TO NUKE IRAN

Iran is in the wrong not the USA or Britain

26.01.2006 10:26

Iran is in the wrong because it has started nuclear research which can be used to produce nuclear weapons. Iran is also headed by one of the most evil and murderous regimes in the world. It could really do with regime change and democracy which an invasion of it by the west would bring.

Concerned

Let me see...

26.01.2006 11:09

So are you for or against Iran's nuclear program?

Trevor

You are really sad people

26.01.2006 11:17

From all the posts in Indymedia there is only one with capital letters and that had to be yours, just proof of how desperate you are to spread your nonsense lies, because nobody in their right mind wants $100 a barrel petrol price.

Iran is a member of the NPT

26.01.2006 11:24

As i understand,Iran is a member of the non proliferation treaty. This means that it is their legal right to use nuclear materials to generate energy. The CIA themselves admit that Iran is 10 years away from creating a nuclear bomb. There is no evidence to suggest that Iran has a nuclear weapons programme, just Neo con hype and bullshit.
America is run by one of the most evil and corrupt regimes in the world.Iran is run by a traffic attendant, who happens to be sitting on alot of oil which the US military industrial complex/admin believe belongs to them.

Concerned,i am concerned at the state of your mental health.

Or maybe you re just a true facsist, which is why you always stand up for oppression, torture, civilian murder, the use of radio active munitions.

Why don 't you run of to washington and live with your fourth reich buddies over there.Or better still join the US marines.Im sure you may feel different once you ve been contaminated for life with Uranium 238.

Oh and by the way,the site you link to is about the most obvious facsist propaganda site i've set eyes on since i stumbled upon the Combat 18 site.Remember all dictators use the guise of freedom and truth, whilst sub humanising the "enemy".But you know that already don't ya.

War is a perversion of humanity.

So What

26.01.2006 11:49

We're missing the point here. Even if Iran is building a nuclear weapon they have every right to. Who gets to decide which countries can and which countries cant have nuclear weapons. There cant be any double standards. PS concerned: Iran does have a democratically elected government. Learn your stuff. The guy got more votes than Labour and conservatives did here so its more democratic than the UK is. Maybe there should be a regime change here.

A 'Concerned' mischief-maker

26.01.2006 15:02

If this is the same Concerned as the one who unquestioningly supports the official 9/11 conspiracy theory (remember Rumsfeld said Iraq secret services supported Al Queda) on another part of this site, then I am having serious worries about who Concerned is. A mischief-maker. A Zionist? A neo-con? Worse?

The media have got most of UK believing that Iran is a serious threat because it has broken the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Reporters imply this all the time. But only imply. I actually haven't heard a reporter say that they have broken it. They talk about 'breaching safeguards' and 'cheating'. They make us think they’ve broken it. But Iran has not broken any part of the NNPT.

The media and Western politicians say that Iran was secretly building nuclear facilities. They are actually years away from completing this particular building programme and the NNPT say they are required to inform the International Atomic Energy Authority six months before it's completed. They say Iran has not revealed what it should and therefore breach safeguards. But particular breach is about an informal agreement not part of the NNPT and is unsigned by many members of the NNPT. They talk about 'broken seals' but this was about an end to research work that Iran had agreed to end and had nothing to do with the NNPT.

That is, Iran is not doing anything any NNPT member can legally do. Yet, the US and Europe continue to make a major fuss. Why? Because it wants to attack Iran and stop it open an oil market that would seriously threaten the US dollar's position as a reserve currency.

Concerned either enjoys going on to alternative sites to annoy radicals or he is deliberately pumping out disinformation. Which one is it Concerned?

insidejob

If you think ...

26.01.2006 16:18

.. Iran is not engaged in trying to build a bomb then you are remarkably naive.

Then others say: Iran is entitled to a bomb. By that reasoning, any country is 'entitled' to a bomb. Mugabe, anyone? Burma, perhaps?

The more bombs, and the less stable the country, the greater the chances of one being used. Do you really want that?

sceptic

Reality

26.01.2006 16:34

"Iran is in the wrong because it has started nuclear research which can be used to produce nuclear weapons."

Chefs use knives that can be used to kill people.

That's about as relevant as your comment is. Every relevant body concerned with nuclear proliferation agrees that Iran is fulfilling its obligations. You should pay less attention to the propaganda of proven LIARS, and pay more attention to the facts.

"Iran is also headed by one of the most ..."

Please support this with documentation.

The people you support are some of the most evil and murderous in power right now, so that's kind of a stupid thing to accuse others of, don't you think?

"It could really do with regime change"

Well, if this is the case, then hopefully the people of Iran will take care of this. It's not yours to say, and Regime Change is an illegal foreign policy, as acknowledged by even the American Fascists and their British lapdogs through leaked documents written before the illegal invasion of Iraq.

"and democracy"

Iran is a democratic country.

"which an invasion of it by the west would bring."

The USA, under PNAC, is not "the West", and the only thing this would bring is death and suffering, coupled with a painful, costly occupation, and the reign of another brutal US Puupet Regime, armed to the teeth, trained to kill, and given immunity.

The planned invasion of Iran has nothing to do with current events. This illegal act of aggression was planned long ago, by a small group of Extremists, before they were installed to the White House.

That is our Enemy ...

'Concerned' = Spook

Dont Forget

26.01.2006 17:18

The USA urged their then friend (Iraq) to invade Iran back in the 80's. They even supplied Iraq with weapons to do this. Their reason then was that Iran was a tyranical state. 20 years later they are using nclear weapons as an excuse. Believe who u want.

...

Good Points Reality and Insidejob.

26.01.2006 17:29

Good points, especially the bit about the oil trading.Just google Iranian oil bourse euros, and you will find a lot of relavant info. This really ain't that radical though, and i think a good amount of the Uk population realises the true reasons for these illegal wars, its just a crying shame that less of us are prepared to make a noise about it.

I also used to think concerned was a spook, but now i think that no spook can be that obvious.I'm now leaning more towards the theory that concerned is a worker of Indy media,or a clever anti facsist /antiwar/anti bush dude .It goes like this:post a load of far right neo con shite, then wait for the certain gush of posts denouncing the facsist behaviour of our governments.I say this because there is a pattern whenever concerned posts....his point of view , followed by about 15 people or so who reject his opinion and make him look like a tosser.

Just a theory.

One Addition

26.01.2006 18:18

"They even supplied Iraq with weapons to do this."

Using Israel as a third party, they actually supplied arms to both sides. For some, it was about keeping the region in conflict, for others, it was simply money to be made from more arms sales, and most attrocious of all, for many, it was done in order to maximize the number of Arabs killed by the war.

Research Iran-Contra for more on this ... Most of the criminals involved are now calling the shots!

Sad

As it happens ...

26.01.2006 21:01

... the Iraqi army and air force was equipped almost entirely with Soviet bloc tanks and aircraft during the war with Iran.

sceptic

Is Sceptic Concerned?

26.01.2006 23:30

Perhpas you could support that with documentation? Have you taken into account the covert sales by the CIA of Soviet weapons, in order to disguise their part?

That is why they used Israel as a Third Party while they sold arms to both Iran and Iraq during the war, so it couldn't be traced back to them. Fortunately, Iran-Contra broke that wide open, but sadly, most of the criminals involved have never been held to account, and most of them currently reside within the highest ranks of the Bush/PNAC Regime.

Investigate, Impeach, Imprison

Considering ...

27.01.2006 00:23

the Iran Iraq war took place from 1980-1988, during the height of the Cold War, it does seem highly improbable that Washington or Israel was able to get its hands on Soviet hardware.

As to the Iraqi armed forces, try:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_of_Iraq

Of course, don't let the facts deflect you from your paranoia.

sceptic

Oh Well ...

27.01.2006 13:16

... I suppose I'd better join in ...!

On 'Concerned' ... [he] is rather amusing and transparent, and although I am inclined to favour silicone synapse's model interpretation ... lets call it the useful idiot model ... it is rather spooky (no pun intended) how good [he] is at it!

So ...

... Sceptic, do you favour nuclear war against Iran?

Give me a few hours to review my Iran-Contra documents and such, and I will be happy to prove your model interpretation [of supply routes, origins and profiteers of weapons in the Iran-Iraq conflict] as a profoundly poor one. Again.

Just think ... Rummy shaking hands with Saddam ... Oliver North ... yes back to eighties (nooooooooo!)

Your Straw Man

27.01.2006 18:52

The CIA, under the direction of many of the Fascists in DC today, financed and facilitated the purchase of Soviet weapons, and weapons from other countries, to Iraq.

Or Red Herring, Whatever
