Munic: Thousands protest against the NATO (pics+report)

jeremias kall | 11.02.2007 17:26 | G8 Germany 2007 | Anti-militarism | Globalisation | Repression | World

"It is the tragic of each and any democracy, that everybody here can tell freely his oppinion in public and that state representatives have to be protected in a democracy. In dictatorships things like that would not happen."
Horst Teltschik, organizer of the NATO-security conference in an interview given to BR 2

"Es ist die Tragik jeder Demokratie, dass bei uns jeder seine Meinung öffentlich vertreten darf und dass man politisch Verantwortliche in einer Demokratie schützen muss. In Diktaturen würde so etwas nicht passieren."

Thousands protested against militarism and capitalism in Munic.

Although the protests were peacefully, police captured and hurt many people.

On of them was thrown by cops from the top of a sculpture (near Telecom-building) and lost his conscience. I saw an old man near Gärtnerplatz beaten up by 3 police men for minutes.

Undercover police agant, agents provocateurs, were all over in the black bloc and in between the "normal" protesters.

Bevore the demonstration, busses were hindered to enter Munic and some people were arrested out of busses by the entering police.

Protesters march in downtown Munich, southern Germany, during a rally against the Munich Conference on Security Policy on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007. The annual conference, now in its 43rd year, is often used as an opportunity for officials to conduct diplomacy in an informal setting. Eds note: SIKO stands for security conference. Banner at center reads 'Attack Nato-Siko (Nato Security Conference) and G8 for a world beyond capitalism'.

Several hundred people on Saturday took to the streets of downtown Munich amid tight security to protest against the three-day Munich Security Conference which opened in the Bavarian capital on Friday evening. Holding anti-US and pro-peace signs, radical leftists, anarchists and peace activists marched near the bastion-like conference site as hundreds of policemen kept a watchful eye on the peaceful crowd. Protest organizers expected to see around 5,000 people for the demonstration. More than 3,500 police forces have been deployed throughout the city, anticipating possible violence . The Munich Security Conference is widely viewed as the top annual gathering of movers and shakers on global strategic issues. Around 500 political and military leaders, diplomats and experts are discussing pressing international issues like the Middle East conflict, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, terrorism, NATO's future global role and energy security.

shame theres still banners of discredited people like stalin & leon trotsky still about, they dont represent the movement especially murderers like Trotsky who personally murderered thousands of other revolutionaires before getting ice picked. Anarchists can stomach che guvera, cool, but trotsky & lenin they murdered too many & made too many deals with capitalists to hold on to their empire.

My mum was robbed of her childhood in a siberian death camp, at start of war when nazis & soviet union worked together my gran a primary school teacher had the sin of being the husband of a austrian then polish antinazi fighter who then joined the royal air force.

...he did not PERSONALLY murder thousands of revolutionaries.

though he was responsible for what happened in e.g. Kronstadt.

Tragedy or Farce?, oxymoronic diahorreatical materialism

RAF is a pawn of corporatism, good people joined of all persuausions joined it to stop the Nazis, who were funded originally by corporations to stop anarchists & marxists, mainly by wall street.
Were there were any anarchists in charge of it or allied campaigns?. Can you historically come up with any mass acts of anarchists murdering revolutionares or anyone in death camps?
Iam proud my grandad fought the nazis from the start, he despised RAF tactics. Although a extremely fit proffesional gardener, he died v.prematurely of a heart attack after repeatedly mentioning raids against arms factories in civilian areas.

Mike, you say he isnt a murderer, then you write only at Kronstadt or something, who is the clever one?,

Trotsky led the red army when it slaughtered the "bourgoise" sailors of Kronstadt, who were the same sailors who had led the Russian revolution originally, were they bougouise then?

from wiki on Trotsky,

Trotsky also threatened to execute unit commanders and commissars whose units either deserted or retreated without permission. (Trotsky later argued that these threats were either taken out of context or were used to scare his subordinates into action and were not necessarily meant to be carried out.) Since Red Army commissars were often prominent Bolsheviks, it sometimes led to clashes between them and Trotsky.
Though he and Trotsky were later to become mortal enemies, Stalin was influenced by Trotsky's use of disciplinary measures, and expanded the use of blocking units well into World War II.[16]

At the end of the Tenth Party Congress, Trotsky had to rush to Petrograd to organize and direct the suppression of the Kronstadt Rebellion, the last major revolt against Bolshevik rule. Anarchist Emma Goldman has criticized Trotsky for his actions as Commissar for War and his role in the suppression of the Kronstadt Rebellion, and also arguing that he ordered unjustified incarcerations and executions of political opponents such as anarchists, which, in Goldman's view, makes Trotsky's allegiance to socialism and communism highly questionable.[4

from wiki on Kronstadt:
The Petrograd workers were under martial law and could offer little support to Kronstadt.[1] The Bolshevik government began its attack on Kronstadt on March 7.[2] Some 50,000 troops under command of Mikhail Tukhachevsky took part in the attack.[3] Many Red Army units were forced onto the ice at gunpoint and some actually joined the rebellion.[4] On March 17, the Bolshevik forces finally entered the city of Kronstadt after having suffered over 10,000 fatalities.[5] Although there are no reliable figures for the rebels' battle losses, historians estimate that thousands were executed in the days following the revolt, and a like number were jailed, many in the Solovki labor camp.[6] A large number of more fortunate rebels managed to escape to Finland. These people caused the first major refugee problem for the newly-independent state of Finland. Among the refugees was Petrichenko himself, who lived in Finland as a refugee until he was returned to Soviet Union after the Second World War.[7] Official Soviet figures claim approxmiately 1000 rebels were killed, 2000 wounded, 2500 captured, and 8000 defected to Finland, while the Red Army lost 527 killed and 3285 wounded.[8]

& Lenin too
 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Makhno
Lenin soon sent Lev Kamenev to Ukraine, who conducted a cordial interview with Makhno. After Kamenev's departure, Makhno intercepted two Bolshevik messages, the first an order to the Red Army to attack the Makhnovists, the second ordering Makhno's assassination. Soon after the Fourth Congress, Trotsky sent the clear order to arrest every congress member, then supposedly declared that "it's better to cede the entire Ukraine to Denikin (White Army) than to allow an expansion of Makhnovism"

In early 1918, the new Bolshevik government in Russia signed the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk making peace with the Central Powers, but ceding large amounts of territory to them, including Ukraine. The people living in Ukraine did not want to be ruled by the Central Powers, and so rebelled. Partisan units were formed that waged guerilla war against the Germans and Austrians. This rebellion soon took an anarchist political tone. Nestor Makhno was one of the main organizers of these partisan groups, who united into the Revolutionary Insurrectionary Army of Ukraine (RIAU), also called the Black Army (because they fought under the anarchist black flag), "Makhnovists" or "Makhnovshchina" (i.e., "Makhnovism"). The RIAU also battled against the Whites (counter-revolutionaries) and anti-semitic pogromists. In areas where the RIAU drove out opposing armies, villagers (and workers) sought to abolish capitalism and the state through organizing themselves into village assemblies, communes and free councils

YOUR PROLETARIAN DICTATORSHIP DESTROYED THE REVOLUTION THEN & I HAVE DIRECT EXPERIENCE OF ONE OF THE WAYS YOUR LEADERSHIPS MESSED ANY REVOLUTIONARY ATTEMPTS ON FEBUARY 15th 2003,besides lies, they blocked support for comrades attempting to get to hold Grovesnor Square by confiscating democratic leaflets given out on buses by workers cooperatives.
Well done!
LETS NOT LET HISTORY REPEAT ITSELF AGAIN,
Stick to Che, he had a heart, Trotsky lost his.
