pretentiousartist.com document the changing world... As part of a wider collective named Sheffield Digital Media Group we take images of the abstract (as in not sure what they are), urban (as in the metropolis of sheffield), bucolic (as in the green side of sheffield).

We had no clue about this ice sculpture as part of world environment day. We came across it being put into place on Monday night. We then gathered it would be unveiled at 8am Tuesday 5.6.07. One us on a bike (less carbon footprint) arrived at 7.45am and found ourselves part of a media scrum. These are some of the images we took from last night and this morning.

The aim is to take more as the sculpture, melts away. This is a representation of the melting icecaps and the crisis of global warming. We are shit with words but better with images, there is also a film and we will place this online once we have it edited. More of the stills will appear at pretentiousartist.com..
