Bailiff Bashing

Hammer and Paint | 20.10.2010 08:59 | Public sector cuts | Social Struggles

A violent tool of the state and capitalism, bailiffs are a tool on the poor and as such deserve to be treated with fury and contempt. And last night they were.

M.A Julius and Co. of New Basford, Nottingham were paid a visit last night. Their windows were smashed and messages were left, "Fuck the Rich", "Leave our homes alone" and "Fuck Bailiffs" were painted on the walls of their offices.

This was in solidarity with all of those, including ourselves who have had the indignity from being evicted from homes because the system we live in rewards the selfish greed of the privileged few and punishes the excluded and marginalized. As the cuts come more and more people will struggle to cope, and more and more will be put into debt, and more and more will have their doors broken down by agents of the capitalism. This action is a sign that their will be retaliation, that the controllers of capital and their stooges will not have it all their own way.

Smash the rich and fuck capital.

Poll Vote to Date

20.10.2010 15:18

The vote up till today shows that public opinion is bucking the trend of the more conservative view which condemns such political actions.

55.6% agree that this acceptable behaviour.

33.3% argue that it is Very Necessary.

And only 11.1% have disagreed to `Criminal Damage being an appropriate means of showing Dissent`.

Now who would believe this and does it herald in a new wave of groups willing to go to the extreme? Please be aware the Poll is still open and this might yet go the other way. Please visit us and make your opinion known.

I dont think the poll gives a fair view of what the public is thinking.

It is on a site about unemployment and you are alerting people on a subversive left site that is read by anarchists and the poor who all have a chip on their shoulder.

In short, I think the poll is very misleading (obviously)

You are very welcome to spread the poll to any website you please; you can also embed the poll just like a YouTube video. So the point that the poll doesn’t `gives a fair view of what the public is thinking` is rather lame since we have given concerned individuals ample opportunity to influence its outcome. Remember this poll is not closed.

By this is a corker `anarchists and the poor who all have a chip on their shoulder`. Got nothing better to do than hang out with misfits & rebels, posting here then. An (Obvious) conservative but having posted here before I know the website attracts some real crazies and there’s nothing Unexpected from the Tale you’ve given here.

Why the hell was my comment and others hidden?

21.10.2010 12:45

I made a congratulatory comment and a reminder for people to be careful about leaving a trail when they post here, and it got hidden.  https://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2010/10/466362.html?c=all#comments

What on earth for? I thought it was a supportive comment and a useful tip. I would suggest using something like Tor to hide your IP address. And use the https pages of Indymedia. Or pick a small internet cafe where you are sure there are no cameras (hidden or otherwise), which isn't easy.

I see some other comments about the misleading-ness of online polls has been hidden too, despite it being obvious that online polls are completely pointless, seeing how easily one person can skew them by voting multiple times, and how the voters aren't a random group.

By all means hide post from trolls, fascists and troublemakers, but keep hiding reasonable posts and people will stop reading and commenting on Indymedia and the site will fade into obscurity.

And again - good work with the bailiff bashing. Let's hope with the austerity measure we see more physical attacks on the rich and their lackeys.
