Senate gives green light to torture and military tribunals
The sadists in power can now endulge their sickest fantasies on "enemy combatants" a tern which covers every crime, from smoking spliffs to opposing this legisation. And you thought it was a conspiracy theory! Pah! Eat your heart out, before they do....Stop the Northern Coastal Reclamation Project in Indonesia!
This is an urgent appeal from eco-activists in Indonesia. This appeal is about an environmentaly destructive development called 'Northern Coastal Reclamation Project'. Our campaign strategy will be to push the Dutch reclamation consultant to resign from this corporate-greed project, therefore we need solidarity from dutch activists (and also from all people everywhere else of course!)The name of the consultant company is WitteveenBos.
http://www.witteveenbos.co.id/ -- It is the only consultant in Indonesian for this kind of project. The plan is threatening the lives of many poor people, and will wreck an ecologically sensitive area.

Using Tax Payers Money To Subsidise Your Business -The Reality of Prison Labour
Having plundered the third world with impunity for so long, first-world capitalism has now turned its attention to the incarcerated working class in its own prisons, potentially a rich source of exploitable labour. Prisoners are paid around 30 pence per hour, but even these pitifully small wages are seen as fair game by capitalism.International day to support 'Il Silvestre' prisoners (Italy) - Fri 15 September
Four months have passed since 10 comrades of the 'Il Slvestre' group (who produce the eco-anarcho magazine 'Terra Selvaggia' ) have been arrested (5 in prison and 5 under house arrest), accused of subversive association. DEMOCRACY, MEXICAN STYLE
AN ACCOUNT OF THE STOLEN MEXICAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONSHOCK FOR EDINBURGH METRO READERS
Passengers reading the Metro on Edinburgh's buses this week got a real shock - the paper contained something worth reading in. A leaflet entitled "The Carnival is not over" mysteriously appeared in over a thousand copies of the Metro "newspaper" which is distributed free on Lothian Region buses.Issued on the anniversary of the anti G8 Carnival for Full Enjoyment, the leaflet encouraged citizens to resist injustice : "Together we have the power to disrupt the daily grind of the institutions that plunge us into overwork, poverty and debt."
