Stop the Northern Coastal Reclamation Project in Indonesia!

This is an urgent appeal from eco-activists in Indonesia. This appeal is about an environmentaly destructive development called 'Northern Coastal Reclamation Project'. Our campaign strategy will be to push the Dutch reclamation consultant to resign from this corporate-greed project, therefore we need solidarity from dutch activists (and also from all people everywhere else of course!)

The name of the consultant company is WitteveenBos.  http://www.witteveenbos.co.id/ -- It is the only consultant in Indonesian for this kind of project. The plan is threatening the lives of many poor people, and will wreck an ecologically sensitive area.

International day to support 'Il Silvestre' prisoners (Italy) - Fri 15 September

Four months have passed since 10 comrades of the 'Il Slvestre' group (who produce the eco-anarcho magazine 'Terra Selvaggia' ) have been arrested (5 in prison and 5 under house arrest), accused of subversive association. This is one of many Italian government attempts to destroy a group that in the course of the years has produced a lot of newspapers, pamphlets, meetings, demos, solidarity, books, etc.

SHOCK FOR EDINBURGH METRO READERS

Passengers reading the Metro on Edinburgh's buses this week got a real shock - the paper contained something worth reading in. A leaflet entitled "The Carnival is not over" mysteriously appeared in over a thousand copies of the Metro "newspaper" which is distributed free on Lothian Region buses.

Issued on the anniversary of the anti G8 Carnival for Full Enjoyment, the leaflet encouraged citizens to resist injustice : "Together we have the power to disrupt the daily grind of the institutions that plunge us into overwork, poverty and debt."
