Tenants in high flats across Glasgow have been left without working washing machines.
To do a wash, their machines have to be filled by hand with water. Glasgow Housing Association know about the problem, and know how to fix it. But shockingly, GHA are stalling with the fixes.

Animal Advocates all dressed up to make Edinburgh Fur-Free
Edinburgh-based animal rights group has launched a campaign to make Edinburgh fur-free and is organising demos against shops selling fur in Edinburgh on the 15th and the 22nd of December.

At the beginning of 2007, the Turbulence collective commissioned 14 articles from around the global 'movement of movements', asking authors: "What would it mean to win?" We edited their responses into a newspaper and printed 7,000 copies, most of which were distributed at the mobilisation against the G8 summit in Heiligendamm, Germany, in June. A few months later, we want to return to the question of winning.
As we resume our search it's no surprise that we keep coming across the problem of visibility. When we think about winning, our eyes are drawn to things that are highly visible or easy-to-measure, such as institutional or legislative change, the opening of a social centre or an increase in membership. That's where the light is. But we also need to assess victories in the less tangible though just as real realm of possibilities. Winning in this realm may involve increased potential, changes in perception or patterns of behaviour. Yet these seem to exist at the very edge of the luminous zone.
This problem leads into another: our experiences create their own luminosity and consequently their own areas of darkness. When we think about winning we are drawn to movements, people and events that are familiar to us; and we have expectations about how things should turn out if they are to constitute a victory.
So how can we overcome our night-blindness once we move beyond the familiar?...

Failing Senior Care System Burdening Families
The war is still the number one issue in the U.S. 2008 Elections, but even as we work to bring this war to an end, it is essential that the country look at real solutions rather than illusory for-profit “solutions” to our basic problems: the crisis facing an aging working class, poverty, homelessness, the cost of living, low wages, inflation, the recession, and many other issues on the American agenda of things-to-do.

Saturday 10th November the company celebrated with a champagne dinner at Penarth Yacht and Rowing Club. 400 people came together to the protests at 50-52 Rue Laffite, (Paris,
9th district), before a large building which had been vacant for 4
years, belonging to the AGF (a French insurance corporation). Demands
had been made to the government to requisition the building for social
ousing. After an aggressive attack by the reserve army to block the
entrance doors, and a sit-in of an hour, people returned to Rue de la
Banque. The Ministry of the Housing Crisis was present in full:
Committee for Action on Homelessness (CAL), Committee of the Homeless
(CDSL), Right to Housing (DAL), and Movement for Art and Culture in
the Neighbourhood (MACAQ).

Major factual innacuracies in BBC Report of Anti-Nuke action
The BBC, probably acting on deliberately inaccurate information provided by the Ministry of Defence, recently claimed that an Anti-Nuclear activist had to be pulled from the water around Coulport, the Royal Navy base where warheads for Trident nuclear missiles are stored. According to the activist converned, the story was quite different.
