G8: Live8 Concerts to Mobilise 1 million for Edinburgh July 6th Demo!

Following intense media speculation the plan around the Make Poverty History alligned Live Aid concerts is currently being revealed.

The concerts on July 2nd will be used to encourage hundreds of thousands of people to then make the journey up to Scotland for the start of the G8 Summit on Wednesday 6th July.

Inter Milan accepts challenge of playing Zapatista football team

subcommandante marcos playing football, by Alessio from LaJornada As previously reported on Indymedia Scotland and Indymedia UK, plagiarised though of BBC world news, Subcommandante Marcos from the EZLN in Chiapas, Mexico, wrote an invitation for a solidarity football game to Inter Milan.
Now the solidarity group B.A.S.T.A. Reports on Indymedia Germany that Inter Milan would have accepted the challenge, however, not yet detemining the time and location of the match.

Nina Lopez welcomes Nora Castañeda & Angelica Alvarez to a Reception in London The first European tour by Venezuelan women, began in London (via Barcelona) on 13 March. Nora Castañeda, president of the Women’s Development Bank (Banmujer) and Angelica Alvarez, promoter co-ordinator of Banmujer in Bolivar state received a warm and enthusiastic welcome at the packed Crossroads Women’s Centre, base of the Global Women’s Strike. The strike co-ordinated the tour as part of its activities for International Women’s Day and the UN Year of Micro-credit.
