Win Animal Rights (WAR) released the text of a press release published on September 8, 2009, by watchdog group SAEN. The press release was about USDA inspection reports for the years 2006, 2007 and 2008 for the Huntingdon Life Sciences East Millstone, New Jersey laboratory. In 2009 Huntingdon's CEO Andrew Baker announced that he was offering to buy out HLS for $7.50 a share. This means he wants to buy all the unsold shares in the company and buy out all the existing shareholders so that he owns the company in full.

The “family fight” between the so called reformists and hardliners is not our fight. People’s demands go beyond what the reformists who believe in the system can possibly deliver. The masses have shown that “the game of powerful” is not their game. If the middle classes succeed in bringing the working classes to it side and turn on the engine of the revolution and only then all these political flirting will go to its rightful place; the trash can of history. This is what happened during the 1979 revolution and will inevitably happen again in a “revolutionary situation”.

A bunch of reports today talk about the harmful effects of so-called social networking websites and how infact they isolate and separate people. When reading this it might be worth substituting some of the websites and concepts with things closer to home for users of this site and analysis what role activist sites such as indymedia really have in bringing forward the revolution or advancing radical struggle. The article quoted below suggests that social networking sites do the opposite of what they claim, could the same be true across the board.

Agent Orange
Last night I attended a screening of the film "The Last Ghost of War" at IIT Chennai, India, followed by a discussion with Dr Simone Nhu-Mai of the Vietnam Agent Orange Victims Association (VAVA). The film and discussion highlighted the horrific legacy that continues to be felt in Vietnam (in addition to Laos and Cambodia, as well as among war veterans from the US, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Korea) due to the spraying of herbicides, including the defoliant Agent Orange.
