PANIC DECLARED Empty store shelves, gas pumps, ATMs ahead -

10-10-2008 16:23 | Analysis | Globalisation | Technology | World

The Rise of the Finance Economy and Fall of Manufacturing
Forget debating a 1929-style stock crash. It just happened, and the banking "holiday," if it happens, won't wait 4 years as it did in the Depression because THIS crisis started with banking. If it weren't for World War II, we would still be in the Depression. Capitalism as we have known it is dead -- Bush & Co. are proving it by socializing the insurer AIG and talk of buying into banks, etc. Our only hope that the finance and service economy (see chart) would take up the slack left by the end of WWII. But the finance economy just failed. The tech (computer) industry is sure to follow its partner down the drain. Empty store shelves and unavailability of cash to you as well as businesses are possibilities we deal with here.

USA ELECTIONS VOTE ACCURACY - GLOBAL PRESSURE NECESSARY

15-09-2008 16:18 | Globalisation | Other Press | Technology | World

It seems from this weeks "local" news - (Ohio local, that is) that despite the integrity declarations of the MCCAIN/PALIN campaign, in fact, possibly without their awareness ( these methods of election distortion WERE also used against Mccain in several primaries ), people are getting put into place, then, at times, attached to the payroll of their election team (!old method of trying to get peoples complicity or cover-up) . As the distortion of the last elections are hitting the courts, as state by state, congressional comitee by commitee, enquiries are showing how it was done, serious pressure from researchers, campaigners, diplomat-types etc across the world COULD prevent the worst of the fraud.

Letting Government into Grown-up Sex and some Psiphon.

28-08-2008 17:08 | Culture | Gender | Technology | World

Nobuyoshi Arakii
Government and Sex don't really go together at the best of times. At the heart of
that especial relationship which has shaped global discourse for eight years
is a puritanism which has an over-weening interest in both artistic discourse
and grown-up sex.

At bottom this seems to be combined with a fear and distrust of anything
that is 'other' to what seems , frankly, a limited experience of human sexuality.

War against Iran ? Its not just about nuclear bombs.

23-08-2008 00:32 | Anti-militarism | Technology | World

Even ther CIA says Iran has No nuke programme ,but the U$ and israel still do a song and dance about "enriched uranium."Why?
It may not be the Bomb and enriched uranium that the US is worried about but the depleted uranium by-product.

EDF French nclear power station leak - UPDATE

23-07-2008 17:52 | Climate Camp 2008 | Ecology | Globalisation | Technology | World

 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tricastin_Nuclear_Power_Center

In July of 2008, 18,000 liters (4,755 Gallons) of Uranium solution containing natural uranium were accidentally released. Due to cleaning and repair work the containment system for a uranium solution holding tank was not functional when the tank filled. The inflow exceeded the tank's capacity and 30 cubic meters of Uranium solution leaked with 18 cubic meters spilled to the ground. Testing found elevated uranium levels in the nearby Gaffière and Lauzon rivers. The liquid that escaped to the ground contained about 75kg of unenriched uranium which is toxic as a heavy metal while possessing only slight radioactivity. Estimates for the releases were initially higher, up to 360kg of natural uranium, but revised downward later. [3]

French authorities have banned the use of water from the Gaffière and Lauzon for drinking and watering of crops. Swimming, water sports and fishing were also banned.

This incident has been classified as Level 1 on the International Nuclear Event Scale.

'The Top Ten Connections Between NIST and Nano-Thermites' -- by Kevin Ryan

05-07-2008 04:52 | Analysis | Technology | Terror War | World

Kevin Ryan
Regardless of how thermite materials were installed in the WTC, it is strange that NIST has been so blind to any such possibility. In fact, when reading NIST’s reports on the WTC, and its periodic responses to FAQs from the public, one might get the idea that no one in the NIST organization had never heard of nano-thermites before. But the truth is, many of the scientists and organizations involved in the NIST WTC investigation were not only well aware of nano-thermites, they actually had considerable connection to, and in some cases expertise in, this exact technology.
