A difficult day in Palestine

A friend in Palestine just emailed me this article. It is the account of a difficult day of Samah Atout including the trashing of her home and her family being held by soldiers while they occupied the home. Samah is the Project Hope Palestine Director and Nablus Coordinator. The account is in her own words, and details some of the horrendous but everyday tragedies she and others have gotten used to.

Dublin M3 Reclaim the Streets photos

Three sound systems, live drums and pink fairies: now this is what I call a reclaim the streets party. Around a thousand people danced, played football and drank, in Dublin on May 3rd to celebrate mayday. No ricin yielding riot mob was sighted.

Cambridge Mayday...and more!

Grafton Centre - Mayday fun for all the family! An excellent meeting took place in Cambridge yesterday to discuss the possibilities of setting some kind of new collective in the city. It was surprisingly well attended given the short notice and less than perfect advertising and it seems that quite a few of us have been wanting something like this to emerge for a while.

Cambridge Social Forum (type thing)???

It's been suggested that we might like to get the ball rolling to form some kind of group in cambridge to do political stuff in a non-partypolitical, non-hierarchical way. The important thing being, getting some political stuff happening outside the normal party focused or single issue pressure group styles.
