Smash HLS: Protest Target: Aircastle Limited

Campaign against animal torture company HLS- Fortress make their money; they are an investment company, and therefore rely on their subsidiaries and acquisitions to keep them profitable. This therefore widens the field considerably, and means that there are strategic protest targets across the world, from ski resorts to newspapers, which can all play a vital part in chipping away at Fortress' resolve.

Nobel Peace Prize Petiton: Julian Assange

Assagnes Haftbefehl wurde Aufgehoben ! Please sign online petition: Nobel Peace Prize for Julian Assange ....... HUMAN RIGHTS - Background (Preamble): Julian Assange is the public face of Wikileaks, the organization that has done so much to expose the evil actions of the US and other governments - actions which those governments would rather keep secret.
He is currently under lock and key in the UK, on trumped-up charges widely seen as an excuse to get him into captivity with the aim of discouraging further disclosures of information which it is so evidently in the public interest to disclose. An award of a Nobel Peace Prize to this courageous man would recognize his contribution to justice and would encourage further leaks of information from those who are considering revealing facts but who might otherwise decide not to. An online petition has been launched, urging the Norwegian Nobel Committee to award the Nobel Peace Prize to Julian Assange. ..........  http://www.gopetition.com/petition/41314.html ........... OK this idea comes from the Kremlin, but never mind that. Ditto the fact that Kissinger, Peres, and Obama also got given this prize. And the hacking is brilliant. But let's fight on more than one front.

Tuition Fees Protestors invade Cambridge shopping malls

Kings Parade, rapidly becoming the 'traditional' starting point. Today in Cambridge, both of the local Cathederals of Consumerism were invaded by several generations of angry students, fighting for a future that doesn't involve getting themselves into vast amounts of debt.

Cambridge student occupation comes to an end.

Combination Room - as if nothing had happened... As you will have seen elsewhere it's been another packed day for activism in Cambridge, with today seeing the occupation of Old Schools Combination Room.

However, what a rather dry (albeit accurate) press release can't do quite as well is convey an idea of what it was like to be there witnessing history being made.

Hopefully my photos will go some way towards doing this.

Escalation Day for the Cambridge Students' Occupation.

Silent Protest, including two activists locked on to Step Ladders. It's been a very busy day for activists here in Cambridge, as the student collective who have now been occupying a room in Cambridge University's Old Schools building decided to escalate things and take their fight against the proposed exorbitant rise in University Tuition Fees to the next level, in response to the wall of silence from University management.

Hundreds take to the streets of Cambridge on Tuesday (Part 1)

The occupation continues... now in day six. I have a story to tell.

It is a tale of two opposing, elemental forces, one of a ruling elite who thinks they know what is best for their subjects, and then there is a select few of their 'subjects', who have other ideas about what is best for them.

What I saw yesterday in Cambridge was the overwhelmingly creative, but also angry response to the decisions that the ruling elite are currently making.

Cambridge Student Demo on Nov 30

King chapel While the university occupation is still going on, school and university students took the streets today to protest increasing fees and cuts to education and all services. Highlights included the invasion of the Cambridge business school lawn (The Judge Institute), a demo through the central shopping centre (where a few weeks ago the vodaphone protest took place), and finally the invasion of the senate house lawn that is in front of the University occupation. A smaller group of people also went to the Guildhall (town hall) which is controlled by the libdems.
