31 HENS RESCUED IN SOLIDARITY WITH ACTIVIST ON TRIAL (New Zealand)

Christchurch Open Rescue ( http://www.youtube.com/ChchOpenRescue) has announced the rescue of 31 hens from a farm south of Chirstchurch. "The action was carried out in solidarity with Mark Eden, an Open Rescue member in Wellington who is currently facing charges for his role in a rescue at a Foxton farm," the group said in a statement. "The birds have all been provided with new homes where they can live out their lives free to exhibit their natural behaviours.”

"On the 15th of January at TEI University in Thessaloniki, Greece about 15 people interrupted a planned experiment on a living animal. Professor and students as well were tying to hide the fact that any experiments were going on. But pushed by 15 masked people, the professor unlocked the lab and liberators took from it 4 lab rats. After that he was punched and spit on by several people. This is just the beginning."

"On a night in December 2007, ALF France visited a furrier at his home in Bordeaux. 'Murderers,' 'GRAMA LIVES AT NO. 16' and 'ALF' were painted on the walls of his street.

We also lit a fire in front of the door to his parking spot.

RESTAURANT BOWS TO PRESSURE, TAKES FOIE GRAS OFF MENU (USA)

The Deseret Morning News has reported that The Metropolitan, a restaurant in downtown Salt Lake City, had been vandalized several times during the past few months. Red paint was thrown on the restaurant, the gas main shut off, and on Christmas Eve, a large picture window was shattered. The restaurant recently stopped serving foie gras.
