Norwich Protesters target Tesco - UK’s ‘market leader’ in biofuels

A colourful banner protest organised by a coalition of local Norwich branches of the environmental groups Friends of the Earth, Rising Tide and Campaign against Climate Change was held outside the Tesco Metro, Guildhall Hill in central Norwich. Agent Orange

Last night I attended a screening of the film "The Last Ghost of War" at IIT Chennai, India, followed by a discussion with Dr Simone Nhu-Mai of the Vietnam Agent Orange Victims Association (VAVA). The film and discussion highlighted the horrific legacy that continues to be felt in Vietnam (in addition to Laos and Cambodia, as well as among war veterans from the US, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Korea) due to the spraying of herbicides, including the defoliant Agent Orange.

Campaigner in Court After Final GM Crop Trashing

Campaigner Martin Shaw, 43, will be in Cambridge Magistrate's Court at 10 a.m. wednesday morning facing charges of criminal damage. He was arrested while trying to destroy a GM test crop.
This was the only crop of GM potatoes being grown in the UK by chemicals giant BASF. The crop was destroyed subsequently, by persons unknown at night-time.
