OPPRESSION IN ALL ITS INSIDIOUS FORMS!

It is truly amazing to observe how oppressive local government is. While the left wing has its head buried in international issues local government in this country oppresses poor working class communities. While us thin on the ground working class left try to expose what is going on in our communities the main contingent of the left are nowhere to be seen. Read more >>

Kirkby Swimming Pool closed after serious fire

On a day when the local New Labour Party leaflet the area (more later on that) Kirkby Swimming Pool has been hit by a serious fire. The fire, according to workmen at the scene began at around 9.00am today (29th Feb 2004), the fire has caused extensive damage to the sauna/steam/workout suite and surrounding areas and as yet there is no indication as to what caused the blaze. Other facilities such as the 'suncabs' or sunbeds may also be damaged. Read more >>

They are stealing our land!

A money grabbing facist RSL know as COBALT have just taken over all the council houses (many thousands) in a part of Liverpool called Norris Green and the outlying areas of Norris Green. COBALT are now in the process of demolishing many council houses and replacing them with new build estates. All of these new builds will be for sale. What the hell are they going to do with the tenants? Read more >>

Indymedia - Liverpool can has an impact offline

A reply to my posting on the Picket Venue here has helped to get a reply in letter form, I sent a letter to the 'The Peoples Centre' in December and I've just received a reply in letter form, which surprised me and it seems I've rattled some people which I have record of doing. Read more >>

BAILLIFS AT NINE LADIES CAMP

I had a phone call from one of my ex squat pals, who is up a tree at the nine ladies camp yesterday - he was phoning from a harness watching the press below.

5 bailiffs had been caught on site, he said they had reached the inner snactum of the camp posing as protestors/supporters, but some one sussed them out.

Lies, damn lies and Labour promises

‘Labour is committed to reducing by one third the backlog of sub-standard housing by 2004, with all social housing brought up to a decent standard by 2010.’
This was the bold claim made in New Labour’s 2001 Manifesto. It was a welcome commitment; after all who wouldn’t want to see the stock of well maintained affordable housing increase? Grim times surely lay ahead for us tenants!

Grim times surely lay ahead for us tenants. We are slowly moving back into a Victorian age when tenants paid over half of their salary on rent alone. Housing Associations or registered Social Landlords, as they are know known, are taking over council properties and becoming property developers. It wont be long before they start selling their old stock off as they move into new builds for sale. Read more >>
