The prestigious event is attended by 217,000 people and broadcast around the world to a television audience of millions. Anti Nuclear Oratorio Premieres In Parliament Hall

Inside Parliament Hall Today a new oratorio, "Trident: A British War Crime", was given a special premiere in Parliament Hall, Edinburgh, for the benefit of the Scottish High Court Judges, Advocates and Lawyers. Performed without permission by 17 non-violent peace activists from Trident Ploughshares this new oratorio highlights the hypocrisy of "justice" around Trident, Britain's nuclear weapons system. Peace protestors are branded criminals for taking action against these illegal weapons of mass destruction, while Trident itself continues to be maintained, sucking resources away from other vital public services.

WHEELCHAIR USER BREAKS INTO TOP NUKE BASE

A wheelchair user was amongst those who breached security by breaking into a top UK nuke base yesterday. Veteran campaigner, Roz Bullen, spent several minutes painting, "No WMD" and other peace slogans on buildings before being arrested.

Activist Jailed for Breach of the Peace

On 1 June, 2004, Ludd, a For Mother Earth Scotland activist handed himself in to the police. A hearing was anticipated on 2 June, 1994. He is spending this time in jail for refusing to pay a £550 fine, imposed on him for opposing Government’s Weapons of Mass Destruction. He was charged only with of a breach of the peace. He was immediately taken to jail for 28 days on an extract warrant.

Edinburgh Rally against US middle east policy

basically all of the participants at the rally at about 1pm Some hundred people gathered today, Saturday the 17th of april, in Edinburghs parliament square following the invitation of the Edinburgh Stop the War Coalition to listen to speakers condemning the current US policy in the Middle East, and the mainstream British involvement and support for Bush's policy of massacring civilians in Falludja.
Another key point was Israels current policy of the seperation wall and the encouragement Bush and Blair expressed for Sharons discriminative policy towards the palestinians.

US drop 1000kg bomb on Falludja

according to dpa/ap the US dropped a 1000 kilo bomb on Falludja, claiming it would destroy the main building of the resistance.
