Call for UK Government Regime Change
A resolution passed by a local peace group in Ayrshire is expected to start a national avalanche of calls for Tony Blair’s resignation. Other organisations, large and small, are being encouraged to adopt and pass the resolution. Ayrshire North Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, meeting in Irvine on the 26th August 2003, called for the Prime Minister to stand down in recognition that his action caused and continues to cause unnecessary suffering against the will of the British people. Hindsight and the Hutton enquiry, they say, show his professed reasons for supporting the USA in an unpopular, illegal and immoral war were unfounded.

The camp is finishing today. Over 70 people participated at the camp, the numerous actions and workshops. In total the police took 41 custodies. Yesterday the attempt of 12 activists failed to break through the fence of the nuclear weapons basis Faslane.

Saturday the 17th August, 2003 – Balata Refugee Camp, Nablus.
The IOF arrive at the home of the Abu Salem family with the intention of demolition. An act of collective punishment for the actions of his son who is a martyr. There are five activists from the International Solidarity Movement staying in the home in response to a very real threat of demolition, due to the IOF carrying out three home demolitions in the Nablus in the previous four days.

Trident Ploughshare Update
Just five years ago Trident Ploughshares began its open, accountable and nonviolent campaign against Trident, Britain's weapon of mass destruction. Since then our activists have been involved in over 2000 arrests. High profile actions, like the disarmament of the research barge Maytime in 1999 by the Trident Three and the series of highly successful mass blockades at Faslane, have increased public awareness about the UK's nuclear weapons and promoted debate.

One of the 9 activists who were able to gain access into the military basis at the evening of the 6th of august to climb a post and a tree, stayed there for over 12 hours with a giant banner, and was still there in the morning when 5 other activists blockaded the main gate of Faslane.

ULLA RODER, PRISONER FOR PEACE, RELEASED
Renowned international Trident Ploughshares activist, Ulla Roder, who was arrested on March 10th for disarming a Tornado jet at RAF Leuchars, has been released from prison on unconditional bail.
