Human Rights in Israel and Occupied Palestine

In Occupied Palestine, conditions are far worse and oppressive. "For forty-one years, Israel has denied fundamental rights to four million Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza," effectively controlling their lives, and repressively denying them their rights under military occupation.

Inequality and discrimination persist because they're hard to prove and Israeli society never internalized these values in practice.

A Strange Case of Double Standards

Another child has died from male circumcision in England - apparently the third such death in 25 months - and boys (from babies to teenagers) are being regularly treated in hospitals for serious injuries or infections resulting from ritual genital cutting. NORM-UK, the charity concerned with the foreskin, calls on the government to implement fully the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and give both boys and girls protection against ritual wounding - in all its forms.

Moroccan police rapes teenage Saharawi human rights activist
Last Sunday Moroccan police in the occupied Western Sahara detained a young Saharawi girl and raped her for standing up against the Moroccan occupation. First they interrogated her, then they molested her and finally the policemen sodomize her with their truncheons. All in the presence of higher ranking officers. They even threatened to kill her if she made her story public.

Camden's Oh! Bar was closed follwowing complaints made by people including those from the gay community. Gay men and women [black and white] were offended by the reggae night which wouuld regularly play songs such as Batty Rider and Boom Bye Bye. The Camden Gazette and the police [via Gazette] have siad that the venue also closed becuase of drugs and violence.
