Reclaim the Streets will be holding a street party on Wednesday 10th September as part of the week of protest and resistance to the DSEi arms fair.

The meet up point is Rathbone Market just outside Canning Town Station at 4pm. It will help if people approach the meet up point from all directions, Rathbone Market is a short walk from West Ham (District & Jubilee) tube station or even Plaistow (District). It can also be accessed by buses 5, n15, n26, n50, 69, n69, 115, 147, 241, 300, 323, 330, 474. Alternatively Canning Town is on the Jubilee Line, Silverlink and Docklands Light Railway.

Please bring musical instruments, drums, banners, food & drink to share, ghetto blasters, props, banners, face paints, whistles, colour and costumes. We hope to have things happening well into the evening so if you can't get off work early come along a bit later and find it.

If bringing kids we would suggest not meeting at Canning Town but meeting elsewhere with (other parents ideally) and approaching carefully. We are aiming to hold an old skool style street party which is safe for those of all ages. We are not looking for confrontation, however obviously we cannot account for the actions of the police.

A week of protest and resistance is planned for DSEi, Europe’s largest arms fair. Things start happening on Saturday 6th September. Check www.dsei.org for details.
