No easy ride for BP Chairman Sutherland - tomorrow (13.11.03)

Suds | 12.11.2003 13:16 | Culture | Ecology | Globalisation | London

BP Chairman, ex-WTO boss, board member of a fistful of blue chip companies and all round cheerleader for full-on capitalist globalisation Sutherland is peddling his ideological wares tomorrow. Come down and give him a (globally) warm welcome. He speaks on 'Access to World Markets: Tackling Poverty, Creating Equity', at the The Royal Commonwealth Society, 18 Northumberland Ave, London, WC2N 5BJ. Be outside at midday if you can.

Hi,

We'll be attending this inauspicious event in the week that the EBRD follows the World Bank and votes shedloads of taxpayers' cash into the Baku-Ceyhan pipeline, so come down if you can to make sure the BP Chairman doesn't get an easy ride.

Meet at midday (on time if you can, so as to catch people on their way in) at The Royal Commonwealth Society, 18 Northumberland Ave, London, WC2.

Bring your BP/WTO/oil industry-related banners/leaflets etc., if you have them, as well as anything noisy (eg. whistles, drums, sound systems, pots, pans, trombones...)

good luck,

London Rising Tide
