Update on the Human Rights case re. employment disability discrimination

John Wilson | 30.06.2004 17:51 | Health | Social Struggles | London

Thanks to everyone for the support in the case, particularly those in South Norwood and Hackney. Here a short update.

In addition to the Human Rights Court in Strasbourg dealing with the matter, my petition at the European Parliament in Brussels was taken on. This was re. my discrimination and dismissal as a disabled employee by the British Home in Streatham, London. This is particularly relevant as 70 to 80% of the petition applications to the European Parliament are rejected. The petition commission has requested the European Commission to take position on the various aspects of the issue. Following the investigation by the European Commission, the matter will be continued accordingly.
