Petition

The International Legal Support team and the signatories of this petition, International organizations, trade unions, and others, have been very concerned in regards the case of Polly Murphy, and the others who face charges of tresspass brought against the in april this year. The imprisonment and subsiquent restriction of movement impossed on Miss Murphy we believe contravenes in several respects the convention of human rights and the anti-torture resolution from the UNO.

We demand of the District Court of Dublin as well as the presiding judge that the charge against Miss Murphy and the other accused be dropped immediately. We the undersigned protest that Miss Murphy has been denied freedom of movement and the right to travel. Many among the undersigned organizations, groups, trade unions and others wish to invite Miss Polly Murphy to attend meetings in Germany, France, Spain and England to speak about her case.

We know that you, the judge presiding in this case, are aware of the tennets of the convention of human rights, and the Anti-Torture resolution. We are confidant that your consience as human beings will be stronger than these banal charges, and that as the presiding judge you can demonstrate to many people through out the world that it is always right to beleve and defend human rights.
