Jam Nike Night Run 28th Nov 7pm

Nuke Nike | 26.11.2004 14:28 | Globalisation | London

Call to arms, 27th Nov, 7pm. Jam the Nike Night Run.

On 28th November (this coming Sunday) at 7pm, the corporate empire that is Nike plans to subject our streets to 30,000 people in their day-glo apparell.

Suggestion: jam the fucking thing into the ground.

We call for all interested parties to assemble at 100 metres from the finish line. Bring banners, placards, and cause a racket. Perhaps some fancy dress, themed to remind the bosses @ Niketown that they don't own our right to jog, run, or walk throught the hallowed streets of SouthWest London.

We protest about the use of 30,000 people as walking (or jogging) billboards. We object to the use of sweatshop labour to produce sports apparell. We object to over-priced sports shoes and celebrity greenwash campaigns.

Details of the event are  http://www.runlondon.com (Nike website)

Sweatshop cruelty must not continue!

Let's give them a Christmas to remember!
