Pics from Brian Haw’s peace camp, 24 Sep

Simon | 25.09.2005 20:42 | Anti-militarism | Anti-racism | Repression | London

Brian Haw’s peace camp is still there in Parliament Square, and under the Serious Organised Crime act, he is now the only person who can protest there without prior police approval(!) Here are some photos of the messages on display there. See also report, photos and audio clips from the stop-the-war demonstration held in London on the 24th September at:  http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2005/09/324256.html

This is excellent stuff. Thank you so much for posting these photos. An original idea - and a 'gripping read'!!! Brilliant.

Whynot come to Parliament Square and read them in the sunshine, with all the smells etc. You can leave your own banner too!

There are regular picnics at the Square every Sunday at Noon, with the idea of reclaiming the space as a people's parliament or something. Here's an account of one recent event:

It would be great to think there was a group or individual who had the funds and commitment to get these pictures up on to the advertising hoardings of London
Anyone got the means or contacts?

I don't have the means to get these images onto big billboards, but if anyone does then I'll gladly contribute high(er) resolution versions of the above for the purpose.

Cant help feeling that is the one for the billboards,I will look into the cost of and the poosibility of small multiple donations to get it onto a billboard,I wonder which is the nearest one to Parliament

Can anyone tell me who is the author of this? I want to get in touch because I want to use this brilliant image and expect I need to negotiate the artist's permission.

Does the original still exist? Where is it?

Thanks v. much
