Tony's cafe in Broadway market EVICTION !!

Jen Trification | 09.01.2006 15:56 | Free Spaces | Repression | Social Struggles | London

We received a good quality tip off today that the EVICTION of this fantastic community campaign against council corruption and gentrification is going to take place tommorow morning - ie: Tuesday 6am

Please come to support the eviction of TONY's cafe, 34 broadway market, hackney, London. A tip off said it would be tommorow at 6am if they could get enough TSG cops together. Seems like its going to be a large scale eviction this time. The last time it was evicted we went back in after a few days and rebuilt the half demolished cafe, this time the developers want to get rid of this inspirational community campaign for good, but many of the occupiers have vowed to resist the eviction non violently with the dignity that this wonderful place deserves ( we even have a bright orange tripod on the roof now !!) - however we need your help and support - either come and stay the night or come early in the morning to support us..

The local campaign will continue whatever happens tommorow, and the next stage is to support Spirit who is likely to be evicted under similar corrupt circumstances from his shop a few doors down the road..
