Camden Priest Spends 'Night On The Tiles' in Roof Occupation.

A North-London priest has occupied the roof of his church in Camden in order to raise enough money to fix the roof so that it can remain a shelter for Camdens homeless.

Despite a fear of heights, Father Malcolm Hunter will spend 10 days and nights living on the steep roof of St Michael's Church in Camden Town.

With only a radio, mobile, waterproofs and toothbrush, he will be reliant on passers-by for food and water.

He aims to raise £100,000 towards a new roof so the church can continue to be a shelter for the area's homeless.

'No roof'

Father Hunter says "In Camden Town, a lot of people are marginalised and have no roof over their heads so I'm going to be homeless too.

"We have to do something desperate to raise this sort of money in such a short time."

Overall, the Grade-II listed church needs to raise £1m for restoration work.

However if they can reach a £100,000 target by Christmas, the Heritage Lottery Fund has promised them £350,000 towards costs.

Get up there and give em some cash if you can!!
