LEBANON - DIRECT ACTION - TRAFALGAR SQUARE - 6.25pm

civil disobediencer | 21.07.2006 23:05 | Lebanon War 2006 | Anti-militarism | Repression | London

The BBC are broadcasting direct from Trafalgar Square tomorrow (Saturday) as part of their dance week. With many protestors leaving Hyde Park after the march, spread the word and flood the Square. Take over the media. Stop censorship. Do real direct action to show the depth of feeling about this situation.

With tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of protestors leaving Hyde Park after their meaningless A to B march on Saturday, wouldn't it be great if loads of us went on to Trafalgar Square.

The BBC are broadcasting a live dance event at 6.25 from the Square, and it would be a chance to really get across the depth of feeling about these horrific events and the part that Blair has in not putting the slightest bit of pressure on Israel after its war crimes.

So tell others, build a movement tomorrow, and flood Trafalgar Square with banners. If we're not allowed in, then make noise noise noise. Make ourselves heard on the censored and controlled media.

Non-violent direct action. Tomorrow. Trafalgar Square. BBC1 6.25pm

I wouldn't be surprised if there was not a healthy turn out for planned demo's against the slaughter and destruction in Lebanon but I guess the media has us well covered on that front and hundreds of thousands of
bods will no doubt be wiped off the score card until of course the pro israeli factions take to the streets.
Funny how accurate their predictions are, for if they say beforehand that they expect there will be 40.000
then you can bet your bollox that is exactly the number that will be reported by their corporate media pals.
kinda takes the edge off getting a good turn out but I don't see there is much that can be done about it.

whose going to be doing the counting ?

of course! banners, posters and we could scream some words against the war!

!
i think it's such a nice idea! go there and say to the worls that we are everywhere!
if the samba band (rythms of resistence)comes it would be nice because we can get more attention!

If you are at the march today, keep telling people about this, and spread the word. And tell them to spread the word too. Let's not let the news editors define the agenda - let's take over the media agenda ourselves, or at least severely disrupt them and get people to realise there's something horribly wrong happening in this world.

I saw too that folk are planning the same sort of thing at the live golf coverage on Sunday. Good luck with that too. Let's keep hitting the media - LIVE, not edited.

SPREAD THE WORD BY MOUTH AT THE MARCH - we can make this happen.
