Police fumble aids climate camp demonstrators block road to Heathrow airport

Today a large crowd of demonstrators set out from the Climate Camp towards a protest purportedly organised by locals in the town of Hatton. Although the demonstrators were continually stopped by the heavy police presence, the demonstration ended up on the road directly in front of the runway in view of passengers and blocked the road to Heathrow for three hours. This was not the original intention of the action, the demonstrators were forced into that position by the police.

The police aggressively forced protesters within a human wall, and would not let demonstrators free without a full body search and profiling. Eventually the police decided that nobody was free to go and the protest was frog marched back to the camp.
