an official from (anti-war/pro-human rights ken livingstone's) greater london authority visited the square yesterday to ascertain which tents were part of the demo, and which were new tourist ones that have arrived recently.
she has returned this morning with police and is saying that just one tent, brian haw's, can remain.
the state has been trying to deal with the problem of barbara tucker's ongoing one woman peaceful campaign against genocide for more than a year now. they have tried to use the law, harrassment, intimidation, violence and detention.
this morning's events look like the next step in that process. barbara has been living in the square for more than a year and needs basic shelter to continue her protest. it's looking like today she may lose that.
