Witness notes and things...

The police only let the demo arrive bit by bit at Parliament Sq, marching a section at a time into the corraled off pen opp. Parliament. Finally one group of mainly young people tired of waiting pushed through police lines. Here one (or two?) people were nicked. The arrest of the guy nicked by Westminster Bridge was way over the top. Although he asked for people for help, with three officers holding him down, administering pressure point holds and then handcuffing him, it wasnt going to happen. They had him face down with his legs bent over up and over each other and of course enjoyed pushing on his legs when he struggled a bit. Ouch!

Later, when the sit down happened StW stewards were asking the group of 50 people blocking the road from 3.30 onwards to get up and march into the pen that was provided to keep the protest all in one place.
