ftp | 26.11.2007 15:53 | Palestine | London

Some audio from the Festival held in solidarity with Palestinians, who are nearing the 60th anniversary of their dispossession. The festival took place on Sunday 25th November at 150 Ossulton Street, NW1.

Rajaa Omari talk - mp3 19M

Gilad Atzmon's first set - mp3 23M

Gilad Atzmon's second set - mp3 13M

The line-up included some films about Palestinian village life, and some of the problems children face in Refugee Camps, a poem reading by Lina Abu Baker, a talk by Palestinian Israeli Rajaa Omari, who is a founder of Natrinkum (We are waiting for you) Haifa, a short talk by Jeremy Corbyn, and 2 sets of music by Hebrew speaking Palestinian Jazz Player Gilad Atzmon, accompanied on the keyboard by Frank Harrison.

The audio is of the talk by Rajaa Omari, who also spoke at last weekends 'Single State' Conference at SOAS. Rajaa reminds us that Palestinians are divided into 3 groups, those in the West Bank and Gaza, those in 48 Israel and the diaspora. She passionately supports the right of return for all refugess, and the establishment of a single state for all those who live in Palestine.

Gilad Atzmon played 2 sets (A few minutes are missing from the beginning of the first set). In the second set Atzmon plays Jenin and Wonderful World.
