brian haw carries 'queen and country' debate

as mentioned on indymedia previously, brian haw left his parliament square vigil this week to walk to oxfrod and take part in a historic debate. 75 years on from the controversial 'king and country' debate at oxford union, the same motion was debated on thursday evening. the motion was carried by a resounding majority

the motion "That this House will in no circumstances fight for its Queen and Country" was successfully argued by brian haw and others in front of an audience of oxford students, and the motion was passed by a majority of around 2 to 1.

brian got back to the square to resume his six year vigil this evening.
