Wominspace eviction successfully resisted!

wominspace | 16.04.2008 15:13 | Free Spaces | Gender | London

The first attempt to evict the Wominspace in North East London was today successfully resisted.

While women barricaded themselves inside, about 40 supporters guarded the barricades, and helped themselves to a delicious breakfast. Seeing this, no attempts were made to evict the space by the bailiffs or the few cops lurking around. They left after about a hour.

But a second attempt could come at anytime. If you can help out being in the space during the day or night, or if you would like to organise an event over the next few days, please contact us. Email  womenorganise@yahoo.co.uk or ring 07939 381562

This Sunday (20th April) we will have a collective meeting from 7pm, and a film night from 9pm. Come along! The Wominspace is open to all women, and all trans and intersex people.

If anyone has any other photos from today's failed eviction attempt, please send them to  womenorganise@yahoo.co.uk
