Free protest party, Trafalger Square

London Free Party Posse | 04.05.2015 11:56 | Free Spaces | London

As the sickening saga of this so called 'democratic' election grinds to its foregone conclusion other people have decided they are having nothing to do with it and have decided what London needs is a bloody good free party !

On Friday 8th of May we are inviting all people to join us, the London Free Party Posse, in Trafalgar Square at 7pm for a truly unforgettable party to remind the politicians of all parties we have no interest in their election.

There will be three separate music zones with peddle powered sound systems providing a mixture of different dance favourites. A fourth area will be a Silent Disco where people can dance to whatever is on their music players. We are asking people to bring nothing with them, we don't want to give the cops any excuse to stop the party so just turn up and we will provide the rest. Free food and drink giveaway at Henry Havelock's statue for as long as both last.

7pm until we call it a day, show the Westminster lot theirs is not the only system, a better world is possible and in part already exists.

Screw the election - DANCE !

What a great idea, well done to those who pulled this together. I am sick to the back teeth of this election and having my view ignored. I don't want any of the buggers in power and yet that seems not be an option (why?). A party in the heart of London is what we all need.

Our Streets !

Our Party !

Our Trafalger Square !

Never going to happen

The GLA private security who patrol the square 24 hours a day will close down any attempt at a party of this kind. I assume you have not applied for an entertainment licence either which means the cops have a right to move you on and they will. All in all a right waste of time.

Trafalger Square.

Activities on the Square are regulated by the Trafalgar Square Byelaws:

Trafalgar Square byelaws www.london.gov.uk/priorities/arts-culture/trafalgar-square/byelaws

The byelaws were made by the Mayor under Section 385 of the Greater London Authority Act 1999 and their enforcement is primarily the responsibility of the Greater London Authority. The byelaws outline a number of activities that require written permission such as commercial photography, taking part in assemblies and performances, and advertising. They also contain a list of prohibited activities within the Square such as failing to keep an animal under control.

Heard rumours about this a couple of weeks ago and I know one of the pedal music busters who are going to be there. This is going to be rushing !

Get everyone you know down there, tell everyone, post on facebook, twitter, and put up posters in your work, school or uni. This is the time we take back our streets from the control monkeys and party !

Holy fuck, what kind of MORON would say "Behold your future concentration camp guards"

Get the fuck out of activism and stay out, forever

I don't take orders from you or anybody else. Join the coming revolution or get out of the way, you are part of the problem.

Bloody well said mate, the poster Jen belongs to the part of activism in this country that likes to have others give them orders and enjoys giving them to people like us. Fuck her.

I'm coming to the party and I have told everyone I know, if the GLA don't like it, fuck them as well.

East London Rhythms of Resistance to play

06.05.2015 05:37

The East London Rhythms of Resistance crew, a new addition to the famous Rhythms of Resistance bands has confirmed they will be joining us and playing from around 8pm. For those who do not know them they are a network of action samba bands, playing for all kinds of socio-political and ecological causes. They actively criticize and confront any form of domination, exploitation, discrimination or oppression and choose tactical frivolity and/or other forms of creative protest as a way to express their rage and indignation. We know them as the group that puts great rhythms into any political activity !

We can see from the comments above that people are already rattled and trying to stop us - GREAT ! Good to know the party is already causing problems, that was the intent.
