Foie Gras Not Fair to the Goose

To highlight the ongoing Nottingham campaign against the sale of foie gras, (the diseased liver of a grossly force fed goose or duck), in support to the imminent vote against foie gras in York, and drawing strength from the successful campaign in Sheffield, supporters of Nottingham Animal Rights held a protest on the opening night of Nottingham's Goose Fair.

Account of AR UK 2007 & police raid

The UK Animal Rights Gathering 2007 was taking place at a sanctuary in Kent last weekend. Over 200 people attended for workshops and discussions on various issues relating to animal rights, and to scoff Veggie's food. The entire event was peaceful and good natured, and made a mockery of a police who raided the site on Sunday.

Force feeding stunt exposes Selfridges

Seated at a well-set dinner table near the entrance to Selfridges, an elegantly dressed woman was "force-fed" through a funnel by a man who was dressed as a waiter. This was the scene that made hundreds of shoppers stop and stare, yesterday(25-9-07) in Birmingham City Centre. The aim was simply to expose and shame Selfridges for their sale of foie gras - torture in a tin!!

A victory for larger brained mammals
Activists have scuttled a Norwegian whaling ship in harbour in memory of the recently extinct Yangtze river dolphin . The group call themselves Agenda 21 after a failed pledge from the Rio Earth Summit for a sustainable 21st century. Norway has slaughtered 592 Minke whales in the past year.

FoE members vote for more honesty regarding meat/dairy devastation

At the annual Friends of the Earth conference, local group members have voted strongly in favour of a motion drafted by Redditch Vegetarians & Vegans! The motion called for FoE to publish detailed information regarding the massive environmental impact of meat/dairy production, therefore allowing the general public to make an informed choice about their diet.
