Maggie's Law - stiffer penalties for animal abusers

Maggie was a much loved 20 year old horse who was cruelly killed by two thugs armed with a meat cleaver who chased her and tortured her to death in her paddock. Maggie's owner Davina Bowyer of West Midlands has launched a campaign asking for stiffer penalties for such animal abuse crimes. See www.maggieslaw.co.uk where you can also sign a petition.

A team of activists, along with some new faces gathered outside the Liverpool Novartis as part of the day of action against them! It was the most visual demo yet, with lots of new plaquards on display, showing the passing public and staff inside exactly what Novartis do to animals. Not to mention our huge banner making it perfectly clear the link between Novartis and cruel HLS.

Examining Mauritius' Monkey Exports....Can They Be Stopped?

Mauritius is the 4th largest exporter of monkeys for "scientific" research, and the largest exporter of "wild-caught" monkeys (ie monkeys taken directly from nature and shipped to unimaginable horrors in laboratories). The use of wild-caught monkeys is considered so unconscionable that even the pro-vivisection British government has outlawed the practice, however regressive nations such as France, the USA and Japan still use them.

Nepalese Monkey Export Ban Under Threat!

The latest news the G2H team has recieved from Nepal is not only will the monkeys not be released from the breeding centres [because they are "private property"] but that the Nepalese government is even considering restarting the exports....despite a previous public statement that Nepal no longer has a policy of exporting monkeys for the vivisection industry!

The slaughter of the baby harp seals has been condemned around the world
An animal rights campaigner from Nottingham charged with breaching a seal exclusion zone in Canada was acquitted on Friday. Mark Glover, who is a member of the Carlton-based group Respect for Animals, was one of five activists arrested while filming the annual Canadian seal hunt and accused of violating a condition of their observation licenses which required that they remain at least 10m from sealing activity.
