Activists visit the Wickham site today

Last months national demonstrations at Wickham labs new site at North Gosport has helped bring new vigour to the campaign to close this evil company. Wickham have been exposed time and time again abusing and murdering mice and rabbits simply for profit. Their crimes have been so horrific that they have even been condemned in the corporate media for their horrific abuse. Today 12 activists kept up the pressure visiting their Wickham site.

Contaminated Bayer site houses get green light despite 'health risks'

The Ecologist today reports, that the clean-up of contaminated land earmarked for 380 homes in Cambridgeshire has been watered down, fuelling fears over the potential health impacts of toxic chemicals underground. The site formerly belonged to Bayer.

GM Potato Decontamination in Belgium

On Sunday 30th May, 2011 over 250 people gathered and successfully decontaminated a GM potato field in Wetteren, Belgium. Despite heavy-handed policing, demonstrators from all over Europe joined with locals and representatives of the farming community. As well as decontaminating the GM tatties, there was even a debating area and fresh veg stalls!

The "battle of the potato" field in Wetterem, near Ghent, Belgium, was a resounding victory for anti-GM activists on Sunday (29 May) as members of a crowd of around 400 people broke through police lines and barbed wire fences to destroy an experimental Genetically Modified potato crop.

Air France-KLM exposed transporting monkeys for the research industry!

The BUAV has released footage of a shipment of 120 long-tailed macaques being loaded on to an Air France flight. On their website they state that the flight took place on May 12 2011 and that the monkeys were transported from Vietnam to Covance in the USA. Fortunately the Air France Cargo shipment number is clearly visible in the video, (057 90196083), and by using this activists have been able to trace the monkeys' journey from Vietnam to the USA in minute detail!

Harlan in Belton, Loughborough, are one of they few remaining suppliers of beagles to vivisection laboratories left in the UK. Over 1,000 dogs are held in the kennels onsite at any given time - 250 of which are killed each year as surplus to stock.
