Locks were glued last night at the offices of Reed and Spearhead Exhibitions, the company that organises DSEi, the world's largest arms fair.

Good work to whoever did this. Unless they did it without the permission of the DSEi Organisers obviously - i mean, I couldn't possibly condone anything illegal if you know what I'm saying...

What a wonderful effective action, the Reed organisation must be on its knees now, if we can combine this with a couple of bored students in bad clothes standing outside with a banner the entire world Arms industry will be dead in three months.

STOP THE ARMS TRADE BEFORE IT STOPS YOU
21.03.2005
INTERNATIONAL
DAY OF DIRECT ACTION
AGAINST THE ARMS TRADE

International groups are calling for a day of direct action
against the arms trade on 21st March 2005 to coincide
with the second anniversary of the start of war on Iraq.

The international arms trade is responsible for death, destruction and
misery all over the planet. Arms dealers profit from war and are constantly
looking for ways to sell their deadly technology to whichever
side is prepared to pay, often at the taxpayer’s expense.

Join us and show that we will not tolerate this murderous trade.

This day of action is an initiative from the “Destroy the Arms Trade” session
at Beyond ESF.

Support this call to action, find your local arms dealer
and organise an action in your area.

For info about the day of action and the arms trade see: www.dsei.org

And your amazingly successfully suggestions are Bill?

Hey, I know, I'll help stop suffering and torturing by trolling indymedia...

Nice one to the the people/person who took the courage to step forward and do something. If more people acted like this or even took the time out to make a phone call or such like, then Spearhead will be brought down. It can be done - after all the animal rights bods are storming ahead on this front.

But what it takes is for everyone to step up and take action, no matter how small. Not whine how it is going to be ineffective, cos Bill is too depressed/cowardly and feels the need to drag down others rather than step up and take action. Hey Bill, maybe we should write to Ken Livingstone....

TIPS FOR GLUEING

11.01.2005 14:56

re: the question on best glue. personally i would recommend "quick metal". it can be a bit tricky as you have to mix two tubes together so it's not as quick as superglue but it goes really really hard - well, literally becomes metal - so it's a fucker for Them and generally they will have to put in new locks.

because it can take a couple of minutes to do, a good cover can be a snogging couple in the doorway. i'd further recommend being a hetero couple cos you get looked at more if you're both female/male. (as for threeway snogging, only go there for fun!)

also, DONT get it on your hands. as with all nighttime expo's WEAR GLOVES.
and don't forget a scarf over your face and a hat on these chilly nights.

FUCK SHIT UP AND DON'T GET CAUGHT!

eternally yours,

superglue and a toothpick

this combination can be very effective too - shove glue in first, then spread liberally on the pick and shove it in the whole, then break off any excess. much quicker than faffing about with mixes.
