Death Dealing DSEi to be targeted in Oxford.

Oxford Autonomous Action | 02.09.2005 20:46 | DSEi 2005 | Anti-militarism | London | Oxford

Calling everyone who believes in a fairer world without arms and the death and destruction they cause. A demonstration will be taking place this Thursday in solidarity with those campaigning against Europe's largest arms bazaar, DSEi. If you want to take part please meet on Thursday, 8th September at Carfax tower, from where we will be moving on to sites around the city. Bring bus money or bikes.

Defense Systems Exhibitions International [DSEi] is a bi-annual arms fair in London where the great and good of arms dealers, arms manufacturers and oppressive regimes from around the world come to drool over the latest weapons of destruction. In 2003 investigators found land mines being sold under the counter. Despite claims made by the British Government who consistently back DSEi, weapons sold 'legitimately' have been found traded in illegal markets.

Campaigners have consistently targeted DSEi as a symbol of all what is wrong with the global arms trade, a vile business that has absolutely no justification. For more information see their press release at  http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2005/09/322377.html or visit www.dsei.org

The Oxford solidarity action is being organized by an autonomous group of campaigners totally opposed to all that DSEi stands for. Everyone is welcome to come along and join in protesting against the arms trade and the wars it breeds.
