Total washout!

11.09.2005 09:05

It was a total washout and waste of time as why have an anti-arms fair protest when the arms fair hasn't even started yet? Why not instead concentrate on one day during the arms fair and have the party then along with all the other protests inorder to get more people. This years anti-dsei actions are turning out to be as shambolic as the previous two in 2001 and 2003 when only a couple of hundred people turned up!

Next time concentrate on one day and advertise the meet up location together with maps on flyers and posters well in advance like six weeks beforehand!

Why not organise something yourself next time?

I'm sure you're aware that this isn't the only action during DSEi, there are days of action planned during the arms fair too - an NVDA day on Tuesday and Direct Action day on Wednesday.

Did anyone catch what happened in Ireland last night?

Just because they got their racist march diverted by the cops....

I honestly think we've lost the ability to protest here.
Wombles where are you when we need you? Hope to see you Wednesday!

bring it on..

Sounds like the people posting here are just looking for other people make things happen. It doesn't work that way. If you want Wednesday to be effective turn up, be sorted, bring a lot of attitude and a bit of courage, and make it happen.

One early morning in July, in Stirling, a load of Internationals gave us Brits a crash course in not being victims. All this time I'd swallowed the line about not being able to fight back against the police in the UK cos there weren't enough of us, or too many of them, or the police tactics were too good and all that shit. Then I saw maybe no more than thirty or forty fight their way through three seperate lines of riot police, across five miles to take control of the M9, while just a few hundred more tagged along behind.

It isnt about numbers, its about attitude. Its about determination, and a bit of guts. Its about not standing around like a bunch of hippies waiting for someone else to sort it out.

I'll probly be accused of being too 'macho' now or something, but what the fuck. I'm looking forward to Wednesday. Bring it on...
