CO11 - Official Statement: 'We got it wrong'

PS Gary Locker | 15.09.2005 14:56 | DSEi 2005 | Anti-militarism | Repression | London

CO11 would like to extend a full apology to all civilians included in the 13/09/05 CO11 Operation Oracle 17 "bingo" cards.

CO11 accepts that these people were mistakenly identified as a threat to Public Order due to an ideological error.

That error has now been rectified and we have issued new cards to all officers involved in Oracle 17 with criminals we now accept pose a VERY REAL threat to public order and global security.

Please contact our legal department to make a claim at your earliest convenience. I have been assured by very senior officers that the Metropolitan Police Service will make extremely generous payments to all those affected by this awful error.

I would also urge you to use the same profiling strategies we have used on the previous 'bingo cards'. That is identify, make copious notes of any associations, follow, harrass and intimidate as much as possible.

To assist us in the speedy apprehension of these suspects I would like to invite Indymedia UK readers to post the details and profiles of these criminals as comments to this article. We require details such as names and dodgy corporate activities associated with each individual concerned. If you also succeed in profiling any of their associations or personal networks please make sure to add these too.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you in advance for your co-operation in making London a safer place.

We've been completely overwhelmed by your response to our 'crime-watch' Indymedia request for information on our amended bingo cards during the DSEi arms fair in East London. May I take this opportunity to again apologise for this idealogical error.

We are now able to release the names of the criminals we are pursuing but we still need vital information concerning their connections and networks. If you know any information about these criminals and their networks please get in touch so we can profile them and continue our investigations. We hope to use this information to secure many successful prosecutions.

Thankyou for your co-operation in making London and the World a safer place.
