NEXT threat to OLSX?

02-11-2011 14:22

The Lancaster Unity blog published on-line chatter that shows EDL activists discussing an abortive plan to attack OLSX. EDL chatter discussed OLSX in terms of an alleged plan by "lefties" to close St Paul's on Poppy Day or Remembrance Sunday, and this theme has been hyped by The Daily Mail. These claims are even more ridiculous now that St Paul's has re-opened, but this all suggests a potential threat to OLSX which needs to be taken seriously in terms of contingency and PR planning _

St Pauls used to be ACTUAL stock exchange...

01-11-2011 14:50

Whilst reading a book on the english civil war recently, I found an interesting piece that explained the the st pauls cathedral was actually used as the stock exchange in the years immediately prior to the english civil war breaking out. the practice of using the cathedral for this capitalistic venture was eventually stopped by some body or other (cant recall his name) and then the war broke out. with the current protest happening outside st pauls, i believe this information to be very relevant today, especially as the bods that control st pauls now are trying to persist in stating that there actions against the camp are not politically motivated. also, below, is a quote about st pauls taken from wikipedia:

Demo outside Eton College AGM, City of London, 6.30pm, 1 November

01-11-2011 13:50

A protest will be held outside the Eton College AGM to demonstrate our strong feelings about the privileged elite that runs this country, and its most important school. At the time of writing this, there are rumours that the College has cancelled its AGM owing to "public order concerns". This may or may not be true, but the demo will go ahead regardless. We will meet at St Paul's at 6.30pm, and have a short walk to Withers, 16 Old Bailey.

Occupy: War resisters Ciaron O'Reilly and Ben Griffin speak out for Manning

31-10-2011 07:33

Ben Griffin speaking at Occupy lsx
There has been an anti-war presence at Occupy LSX outside St Paul's almost every day with Ciaron O'Reilly, Ben Griffin and others speaking in public about Bradley Manning, the ongoing war in Afghanistan and war resistance amongst other things. It's shocking how many people still aren't familiar with Bradley Manning's name or the Collateral Murder footage, though everyone knows about the leaked cables and war logs.

Christian Activists Plan Support Over Occupy Eviction as church hides report

30-10-2011 12:28

http://preview.tinyurl.com/6c88so9

Christian groups plan to come out in support of the Occupy protesters at St Paul’s with a ring of prayer around the protesters in the event they are forcibly removed.

The protest has become increasingly fraught, mostly on the church’s side, as the Cathedral was closed then reopened and legal steps to remove the protesters started last week. The church’s astonishingly poor handling of the affair was underlined by the resignation of canon Giles Fraser. Cathedral chaplain the Reverend Fraser Dyerhas also stepped down in protest at the decisions made by the Dean.

Daily Mail dirty tricks continue at OLSX

29-10-2011 21:44

The latest Daily Mail bullshit about Occupy London Stock Exchange alleges that, as temperatures plummet to near zero at the occupation in New York's Zuccotti Park, thermal imaging cameras can show when tents are full after all. This might, in context of New York only, be true, but it is not true in what even The Daily Mail admits is "a much warmer London" - where, in contrast to New York, temperatures remain around 17 degrees... contrast settings on the FLIR thermal cameras are adjustable! ...

Daily Mail admits OLSX "speak for England"

28-10-2011 12:21

After a week of dirty tricks against Occupy London Stock Exchange protests, The Daily Mail have finally (albeit grudgingly) admitted OLSX protestors "speak for England", because "the majority of people... would almost certainly agree that the authorities are much to blame for not prosecuting any of the bankers whose reckless and sometimes illegal actions led to the wrecking of western economies and the destruction of millions of livelihoods".
