Close Counter Terror World!

In a few days time, Olympia plays host the Counter Terror World, an exhibition at which companies and countries from around the world will share with each other lessons learned in the war on terror, a war on their own populations. Israel will be a prominent attendee, eager - no doubt - to share the lessons they've learned from the recent campaign in Lebanon and the ongoing repression in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

London Class War have called a picket of Olympia at 1pm on Tuesday 5 December, the first day of the sordid exhibition. Further details are available on the website, www.classwar.org Read more >>

Help stop biometric controls in workplace for migrant cleaners

ISS is the company that has been in the news this week for doing the nasty on the cleaners in the City of London. Now they are at it in the London Underground. Cleaners in the depots, where they clean the carriages, must now clock in and out using biometric machines that measure their unique fingers' proportions. All the cleaners are migrants, who will be the first target of biometric IDs and the like. They want to fight this but need help. Read more >>

Peak Oil : High tide for an oil addicted world

2006 has seen awareness of Climate Change reach new levels and those who have said for so long that something should be done to reduce CO2 emissions are seeing action slowly – perhaps too slowly – beginning to happen.

The incredible levels of CO2 in the Earth’s atmosphere are a result of the massive explosion of the human population in the 20th century and the resulting use of resources – especially the burning of fossil fuels –due to our rising living standards and expectations.

Counter Terror World - "strengthening state security"

From the people who brought you DSEi: The Counter Terror World exhibition is the first event of its kind to reflect the increasingly blurred boundaries between the world of defence and that of state security. A glimpse of national ID card enforcement

University of Westminster shows the way in ID card enforcement! This university's marketing slogan is most revealing - "educating for a professional life", they say. With a basic principle of compulsory carrying of cards, a 'three strikes' policy to deny you entry to premises & services if you forget your card, and making it a disciplinary offence if you refuse to show one, this kind of education will most certainly be invaluable for future life if the government gets away with introducing its national ID policy. CPP congratulates DPR-Korea for nuke breakthrough

Kim Jong-Il
The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) today congratulated the people and government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea for successfully and safely carrying out its first-ever nuclear test and hailed the successful test as a “militant assertion of national sovereignty and the right of an independent country to develop its own powerful self-reliant defense capability amidst constant efforts by the US to impose its imperialist hegemony over the world, maintain its monopoly of nuclear weapons along with a few other powerful countries, and subvert the sovereign will of the DPRK.”
