Cruel asylum system blamed for suicide in Glasgow

Full enquiry demanded into suspected suicide of asylum seeker in Glasgow NASS flat

Positive Action in Housing is calling for a full enquiry into the death of a 27 year old man, understood to be an asylum seeker, who was found dead today (Tuesday 18 May) around 3.00pm at an address used to house refugees seeking asylum in the UK.

Police attacks mayday demonstration in Russia - 1 death

Special units attacked the 1st of mai demonstration in Russia, Niznij Novgorod. One demonstrator got run over by a military transporter of the special unit OMON, which was suddenly driving into the crowd and the demonstrator was imediatedly dead.
There was no reason for this attack on this boring march of the KPRF.
There were no reports in the media, which are all controlled by the state anyway.

Corrupt John Lyons - Now Former Amicus Joint General Secretary

In a stunning ruling, Joint General Secretary Roger Lyons has been forced to stand down with immediate effect, following a complaint by a member of amicus. The enforcement order was issued today by the independent Trade Union Certification Officer (CO), who included Lyons' Private and Confidential contract in his judgement.

Kyoto March and Dinosaur Party in Edinburgh

Around about a fifty people joined the Kyoto March and Dinosaur Party in Edinburgh today, 15th of may. Starting at the Russian embassy at about 11 am, via Princes and Rose Street furry and fluffy dinosaurs were accompanied by "George Bush" with drums and slogans: SWhat do we want: Sign Kyoto! When do we want it: Now; as well as "1-2-3-4 we don't want your fossil war!" . Longer article will hopefully follow here soon -here are pictures and the original call for action.

White small banners A weekend of protest took place in Dublin around Mayday, co-inciding with the official ceremony to celebrate the expansion of the European Union and to "welcome" the new European Union memberstates, most of them from Eastern Europe.
On Saturday evening a demonstration marched into the direction of the "red zone" to express dissent with the expansion of "fortress europe" and with globalisation of trade, but with non-regards towards the people.

Hunger strike refugees evicted in Glasgow

Three Iranian Kurdish asylum seekers who recently came close to death in a hunger strike in protest at their treatment and the unjust UK asylum system, have today been evicted from their flat. Although they cannot return to Iran, they now have no entitlement to housing or financial support.
