Tomorrow there is a march in London (and also in Glasgow) starting at 11am from the Royal College of Physicians. This is to protest against the farce that has been unfolding the past few months related to junior doctors' training which is likely to see between 8-15 thousand doctors unemployed come the beginning of August. Friends of John Okello

John Oneka Okello, 58 from Uganda was detained at Beckett House Immigration Reporting Centre on Saturday 3rd February and currently detained in Tinsley IRC. He has been in the UK seeking asylum for 10 years and his claim has been refused. For the last five years he has not been allowed to work and has received no benefits in that time. Read more >>

Reports today show that more than 2 million Iraqi refugees, fleeing conflict in their homeland, are being supported in neighbouring countries including Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt, which are struggling to cope with the exodus. Some countries are preventing refugees from crossing their borders, contrary to international law, and prompting international aid agencies to warn of a humanitarian crisis. Read more >>
